Privacy Policy — Calculator Suite

This page explains how Calculator Suite handles user data, including local-only storage, third-party advertising via Google AdMob, children's privacy under COPPA, and your rights regarding data deletion and opt-out.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Calculator Suite ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Android application ("Calculator Suite" or the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 No Personal Data Collected

Calculator Suite does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. The App does not require you to create an account, provide your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.

2.2 Local-Only Data Storage

The following data is stored exclusively on your device using the WebView's localStorage and Android SharedPreferences:

  • App settings (theme preference, decimal precision, number notation, angle mode)
  • Calculation history (expressions, results, timestamps)
  • Ad-free status timestamps
  • Page change and history save counters for ad frequency capping

This data never leaves your device. It is stored solely to provide a persistent user experience across app sessions.

2.3 No Internet Data Transmission

The App performs all calculations locally on your device. No calculation inputs, results, or usage patterns are sent to any server.

3. Third-Party Services — Advertising

The App displays advertisements using Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service provided by Google LLC. AdMob may collect and process certain information as described below:

3.1 What AdMob Collects

Google AdMob may automatically collect:

  • Device advertising ID (e.g., Google Advertising ID)
  • IP address
  • Device type and operating system version
  • App interactions related to ad views and clicks
  • General location data (city-level, not precise GPS)

3.2 How AdMob Uses This Data

This information is used by Google to:

  • Serve relevant advertisements
  • Measure ad performance and prevent fraud
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

3.3 Google's Privacy Policy

AdMob's data handling is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can review it at:

https://policies.google.com/privacy

3.4 Opting Out of Interest-Based Ads

You can opt out of interest-based advertising at any time by:

  • Opening the Google Settings app on your Android device
  • Selecting "Ads"
  • Enabling "Opt out of Ads Personalization"

You may also reset your advertising ID from the same screen.

4. Types of Ads Displayed

The App uses the following ad formats via Google AdMob:

Ad FormatDescription
Native AdvancedA banner-style ad displayed at the bottom of the screen with icon, headline, body, advertiser name, and call-to-action button
Rewarded Video AdA full-screen video ad that users may choose to watch in exchange for 30 minutes of ad-free usage
Rewarded Interstitial AdA full-screen ad that may appear automatically after certain app interactions (e.g., page changes, saving calculations) in exchange for 15 minutes of ad-free usage

Users can also watch a rewarded video ad from the Settings page to enable 30 minutes of ad-free usage across all ad formats.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

The App is rated Everyone and is suitable for all ages. However:

  • The App itself does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13
  • AdMob may serve contextual (non-personalized) ads. Google's policies require that ads served to children comply with COPPA. We have configured AdMob to use tag_for_child_directed_treatment settings where applicable
  • If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data through AdMob, please contact Google directly via their privacy policy

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the data stored locally on your device:

  • All app data is stored within the app's sandboxed storage and is not accessible by other applications
  • No data is transmitted over the network, eliminating the risk of interception during transmission
  • Calculation history can be cleared at any time from the History page

However, no method of storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Settings and History: These remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the App. You can delete individual history entries or clear all history from the History page at any time.
  • Ad-Free Status Timestamps: Stored locally and automatically cleared when the ad-free period expires.
  • AdMob Data: Retention is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to or control over data collected by AdMob.

To delete all locally stored data, go to your device's Settings > Apps > Calculator Suite > Storage > Clear Data, or uninstall the App.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Right to Access: Request information about what data is processed
  • Right to Deletion: Request deletion of locally stored data (clear app data or uninstall)
  • Right to Object: Opt out of personalized ads via device settings
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Uninstall the App at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address below.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App and this page will be updated with a new "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
